Chocolate Cardamom Brownies

These fudgy brownies pair perfectly with our Turkish Coffee ice cream. The floral notes of the cardamom in both the brownies and ice cream is an unexpected reprieve from the richness.

Ingredients for Cake:  

  • 1 stick unsalted butter, melted

  • 2/3 cup all purpose flour 

  • 2/3 cup natural cocoa powder

  • 1 1/4 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp ground cardamom 

  • 1/2 cup whole milk plain yogurt

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Line an 8x8 pan with parchment paper and spray with cooking spray. Sift together dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt and cardamom.

  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together butter, sugar and yogurt. Fold in the dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.Transfer batter to pan and spread out 

  3. Bake for 30-35 minutes and let cool completely. Refrigerate for 2 hours before slicing.
